Ever-Changing Reflection

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding... It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility.

Writer's Workshop: Affirmation

Relax. Just let it go. It'll be ok. It doesn't matter.
Whenever I run into an obstacle, am challenged, get frustrated or encounter something I don't like -- rather than throw a hissy fit, which is my natural reaction -- I say this to myself. I take a deep breath and move forward, calmly. Usually.

I wasn't always this way. I used to blow up at will, never control my reactions or emotions. Then I realized, acting this way was not getting me anywhere; most importantly, it was not getting me my desired outcome. So, I did some research. I read a lot about how to react and where it gets you. I read how to control myself. I learned about what all that stress was doing to my body and my mind. I FELT what it was doing. And, I saw what it was doing to my relationships -- personally and professionally.

Change was in order, not because that's what everyone else thought I should do, but because it what I felt I needed to do. And I developed this "mantra." It's not really a mantra; it's too long for a mantra. But, it's what I find myself saying when I feel the heat building up in my face and my heart racing.

It has served me well.

Prompt #5: “I need all the help I can get and if repeating something healthy and inspiring to myself several times a day helps, then I’m going to do it!” -What affirmation makes you feel better? WELL THINK OF ONE. (inspired by Shanna from Smiles, Miles, and Trials)
