Ever-Changing Reflection

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding... It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility.

If I could do it again...

It's time for another Wishful Wednesday! To play along, click the button to link up at Kelsey's blog. This week's topic is:

'I wish' .... I had the opportunity to change careers and it would be a professional dancer!

I wouldn't necessarily be a professional ballerina, although that is what I always dreamed of as a girl. I would do any kind of dance anywhere I could: Broadway on a cruise ship, contemporary for Alvin Ailey, tap on America's Got Talent, a ballerina with the Boston Ballet.

Obviously, this isn't a career I could transition into now, but we're not talking about reality; this is wishful after all! But, if I could go back and do it all over again, I would have stuck with dance more. My parents pushed me to get an education since a dance career is so unreliable, but I wish I had listened to them a little less and myself a little more. I wish I had gone to a university where I could have pursued dance more seriously -- perhaps as a second major or a minor.

I miss dancing, and I miss the opportunity I never gave a chance.

I miss dancing as well at times. I danced from age 2 to 18 but once I got to college it just didn't interest me as much as it once did

Oh that is a good one. I danced ballet for 12 years but then I got too tall :( I miss it everyday.

I danced from the time I was 2 until I was 21. I took classes at FSU, it was so much fun doing something I loved and getting my college credit! :)

Is there anything that you could do now... ? It's such a shame to have wishes that you can't fulfil!

Oh, I miss dancing too. I wish there were more opportunities for grown-ups to dance or take lessons. I'd just feel like an idiot now. :)

I really miss dancing as well. It is fun, great exercise, and beautiful. I love watching SYTYCD and wishing I could still dance :(
