Ever-Changing Reflection

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding... It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility.

I remember...

I want to devote this post to the day at hand, September 11, 2009, or 9/11 – the 8th anniversary of the horrible terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania, and the 7th anniversary of my grandfather’s death.

Of course, the victims of 9/11/01 and their families and friends are remembered this day and held within our hearts every day. On this anniversary day, I pray that the victims rest in peace with their Creator and that their surviving loved ones have found peace amidst the crazy insanity.

I want to remember, also, my grandfather, who, in a way, died serving his country – the same country viciously attacked a year before his death. No, my grandfather was not actively serving in the armed forces. He died quietly at home, surrounded by his wife and children, of the cancer that drowned his lungs. The lung cancer was caused by asbestos from the Navy ships my grandfather served on as a welder. He loved his country, and he loved his family, and he is missed.

This is very creepy, but I thought it significant and interesting.

1) New York City has 11 letters.

2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.

3) Ramsin Yuseb (the terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.

4) George W. Bush has 11 letters.

5) New York is the 11th State in the United States.

6) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight 11.

7) Flight 11, which hit the Trade Center, had 92 passengers onboard. 9+2=11.

8) Flight 77, which also hit the Trade Center, had 65 passengers onboard. 6+5=11.

9) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11. 9+1+1=11.

10) The date is the same as the U.S. emergency number: 911.

11) The total number of passengers on the hijacked planes was 254. 2+5+4=11.

12) September 11 is the 254th day of the calendar year. Again 2+5+4=11.

13) The Madrid, Spain bombings took place on 3/11/2004. 3+1+1+2+4=11.

14) The Madrid, Spain bombings took place 911 days after the attacks on the Twin Towers.

15) The most recognized symbol for the U.S., after the Stars and Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book:

For it is written that the son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: For the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace.

16) That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.

17) Open Microsoft Word or Wordpad and do the following.

Type in capitals Q33 Ny. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit the Trade Centers.

Highlight the Q33 Ny.

Change the actual font to Wingdings.

What do you think now?
