Ever-Changing Reflection

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding... It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility.

My Monday List

Happy Monday everyone! Here is my Monday list of things I'm happy about...

I finally saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Saturday night. In IMAX. In 3D! Ok, well, not to fool anyone, only the first bit of the movie is in 3D, which was highly disappointing because it is such a good 3D candidate.

Anyway, I enjoyed the movie a lot (I've read all of the books and loved them). However, I realized at the end, that if someone (like my boyfriend) were to have not read the books and simply went to see this movie for some entertainment, they would not have a clue as to what is going on.

While everyone knows these three characters, there were some characters that appeared in this movie without any introduction at all, such as Rufus Scrimgeour, the warewolf, and his fellow Auror and wife, Nymphadora Tonks. I, of course, recognized these characters immediately, but I can imagine my boyfriend had no idea who they were or what they were doing.

I understand there's a lot to squeeze in these films, but a quick recap worked into the plot line would be helpful for those who haven't read the books.

On the subject of movies... Boyfriend and I finally finished installing our "home movie theater" in the basement. And movie-theaterish it is! We have a wall-sized projector screen with the Bose Lifestyle surround-sound system. We tested it out last night and watched Jodie Foster's The Brave One. It was a good pic for the big screen, but the actual movie was mediocre. Our Lhasa Apso Morris, however, watched intently and barked at the bad guys and the dog in the film. Too funny.

Confession: I love seersucker. If I lived on a Caribbean island, I would wear seersucker daily. I used to have a seersucker bikini and J.Crew trousers. Now I have a seersucker tote bag and this adorable 3/4-sleeve Banana Republic blazer I scored on the sale rack last fall. I'm wearing it today with Gap wide-leg white trousers and an Old Navy navy blue ribbed tank, along with flat white sandals. Just call me the Gap Inc. girl!

I'm a tad tired this Monday (when am I not tired on Monday), but this cute summer outfit raises my spirits and eyelids!

Have a good week everyone! Make it count.

I need to go see Harry Potter in 3D. It would make it even better.
